The goal of Fool’s Cap is to gather and distribute new works. It has been designed as a partnership between the publisher and the author. We take any manuscript that fits our submissions policy and offer it for sale in electronic format.
WHY THE ELECTRONIC BOOK FORMAT
The electronic format allows us to keep costs down. As electronic readers become more common and integrated into existing devices, the demand for material will continue to rise.
FEES AND RIGHTS
We charge no fees for submissions. However, in your submission you must agree to sign over “1st electronic serial rights” to Fool’s Cap Publishing. This is done for clarity and protect both the us publisher and the author.
Fool's Cap Publishing then holds the rights for 12 months (plus any necessary editing time), after which time the rights automatically turn back over to the author. If they wish the author may renew their contract with is, or regain the rights to their work for their own purposes.
During the 12 month period from date of posting to site (plus any necessary edit time), Fool's Cap retains all rights to the work, with the guarantee that we will not use the work beyond the original purpose without consultation with the author.
PRICES AND PAYMENT
Fool’s Cap has a set pricing policy on all works. All prices and royalties paid in US dollars.
Short Stories: $1
Novellas: $2
Novels: $3
On each sale, 70% of the proceeds goes directly to the author. Money is paid in six months installments.
