You write it, we’ll publish it. The whole purpose of Fool’s Cap is to find and disseminate new works.
That does not mean that we don’t have a few rules. Failure to comply with these will mean the submission is returned.
~Edit! The single most important factor to consider before submitting. While the publisher will correct noticable typos, we will not correct major mistakes or plot holes. Poor or absent editing will result in the submission being returned.
~No copywrited material whatsoever. This means no crossovers, locations, items or characters from any existing fictional setting. Parodies will be considered on a case by case basis.
~No plagiarized material. If any author is caught plagiarizing any material, his or her account will be shut down immediately, all material will be removed and that author banned from submitting for 1 year. A second offense will result in a lifetime ban.
~No material that discriminates based on race, religion, cultural background or sexual orientation.
~Sexually explicit material is allowed, within limits. You must make it clear that your work contains graphic erotica in the summary. Absolutely NO explicit material involving children, animals, necrophilia or nonconsensual sex is permitted!
References to the above events are permitted, if integral to the plot. Clear fantasy interpretations of the above terms (vampires, humanoid animals etc) will be considered on a case by case basis.

One submission per email.
Email Subject Line: SUB: “Title”
Every submission to Fool’s Cap must contain THREE Separate documents. WORD and RTF files only. 12pt Times Roman Font ONLY.
1: Cover Page
Your real name
Pen name (if you wish)
Email Address
Title of Work
Word Count
Genre
Blurb: How you would like your submission described on the webpage.
Contact Info
Acknowledgement of "1st Electronic Serial Rights" for editorial time + 12months from date of first posting to site.
2: Detailed (1-2 pages) summary of your manuscript.
3: The manuscript itself.
Document Format: Failure to follow these rules will result in your submission returned unread.

Fiction/Non-Fiction
Short/Pamphlet (1-100pgs)
Novella/Short (101-200pgs)
Novel/Full (201+ pages)
Poetry - in book format only.
General Formating
MS Word or RTF format.
Times New Roman 12pt Font.
1” formatting all around.
Double Space.
Do not drop the start of your chapters down a half page.
A header containing page numbers, your real name and contact info ON EACH PAGE.
Once everything is ready, send to:
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
One your work has been submitted, Fool’s Cap will acknowledge that your work has been recieved (1-2days). It will then be reviewed
to see if it meets the submission guidelines (1week-1month). If there are any suggested editorial changes, it will be sent back to the author for revision. Once both the author and Fool's Cap are satisfied that the work has been refined into the best work possible, it will be assigned an ISBN number and converted to PDF format. From there, it will be put up on the website for sale.
Depending on the length of your submission, it can take two to four weeks for the document to appear on the website.
